Daily Covid count drops to 82, no more fatalities

THE total number of coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours to late this morning (Feb. 20) dropped to 82 from 130 yesterday taking the cumulative confirmed cases to 25,323 with the death toll remaining at 83 as there were no more fatalities, Siam Rath said.

Of the 82 new cases, 71 were domestic and 11 overseas travellers who have all been quarantined. Local cases were divided into two groups, with 44 found through proactive screening in communities, adding up to 14,355 patients found through this method of searching so far, while 27 emerged in the surveillance and service systems.

Another 59 patients recovered taking the total number of those who have been cured to 24,129 while 1,111 are still undergoing treatment.

In the current coronavirus outbreak, as of Dec. 15, 2020 till today there have been 21,086 cumulative confirmed cases with 19,952 having recovered and 1,111 are still hospitalised while the death toll is 23.

Of  the new batch of 11 foreign travellers who arrived and were quarantined, two each came from the US and Russia, and one each from Germany, India, Nigeria, France, Kenya, United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.
