THE total number of Covid-19 cases over the past 24 hours to this morning (Feb. 5) dropped to 586 from 809 yesterday adding up to 22,644 cumulative confirmed patients, Sanook.com said.
The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration’s (CCSA’s) spokeswoman Apisamai Srisangson said of the overall cases 15,331 patients have recovered while 7,234 are still hospitalised. There were not additional deaths with the toll staying at 79.
Details of today 586 coronavirus cases are as follows:

Altogether 47 cases found through surveillance and service systems;

An additional 526 cases found through proactive search in communities;

There were 13 overseas travellers who arrived and were quarantined with five coming from Egypt and one each from the US, Italy, Tanzania, South Africa, Rwanda, Germany, the UK and Myanmar.
Meanwhile Samut Sakhon’s provincial public relations office said earlier this morning that upto midnight yesterday (Feb. 4) 548 new cases were found in their province, Thai Rath newspaper said.
Of yesterday’s total, 522 emerged through proactive search, three Thais and 519 foreigners, and 26 cases appeared at hospitals, 12 Thais and 14 foreigners.
This province from where the current outbreak spread out now has 14,241 confirmed cases of Covid-19, divided into 12,390 found proactive searches and 1,851 appearing at hospitals.
The provincial death toll remains at five, four Thais and one foreigner, with 7,481 patients having recovered.
Altogether 6,831 people were proactively tested in a single day, taking the total number to 151,563 people who have gone through the process while test results of 15,736 people are awaited.
