A SEDAN driven by a former Provincial Administration Council member in Sukhothai province who was on his way to meet his girlfriend in the dead night burst into flames after slamming into a roadside tree killing him on the spot, Thai Rath newspaper reported today (Dec. 30, 2020).
Mr. Siraphop Limpapan, or Sor Jor Diao, 38, who is also a cousin of a Bhumjaithai Party MP, was driving his sedan to meet his girlfriend in Si Satchanalai district after finishing work at his restaurant in Sawankhalok district at 1.30 a.m. in morning.
It appears that he lost balance at the edge of the road and slammed hard into the tree with the car bursting into flames. The accident occurred just 900 metres from the notorious hundred bodies curve.
When Pol. Lt. Sema Watthana from Si Satchanalai police station got to the scene of the accident together with a duty doctor from Si Satchanalai Hospital and municipality rescuers they saw the sedan engulfed with fire and tried to put it out with an extinguisher but failed.
They then called firemen in and they took ten minutes to extinguish it. Within the gutted vehicle was only the skeleton of the driver.
Policemen will now be making a detailed investigation of this accident in order to carry out further legal procedures.
