A SUBDISTRICT Administration Organization member in Prachuab Khiri Khan province was injured in an explosion at his house this morning (August 26) and police have blockaded the nearby house of the suspect, Thai Rath newspaper reported.
Mr. Serm Chunchey, 68, who is a member of Ron Thong Subdistrict Administrative Organization, which is part of Bang Saphan district, had already been rushed to the hospital with several flak wounds by the time the police reached his house, which is two kilometres away from the administration office.
Pol.Lt.Col. Nattaphon Thubthim, an investigator at Bang Saphan station who was alerted of the explosion by 191 radio, got to the house together with some Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) officers and found shards of glass and a dislodged wire-screen frame outside the victim’s bedroom in the single-storey house.
The bedroom itself was badly damaged with the ceiling having collapsed and debris piled up on the floor and there were with many holes in the roof. The force of the explosion had also damaged one of the bedroom walls.
The EOD officers collected evidence of the explosion in detail and kept those unconcerned with the investigation out of the premises.
Bang Saphan and provincial police are rushing to find out the cause of the explosion and initially have blockaded the house of a suspect who is close to the victim with his house being just 30 metres away.
