Night boat catches fire off Koh Tao, rush to rescue tourists

A NIGHT BOAT, colloquially called “sleeping boat”,  caught fire in the sea off Koh Tao, Surat Thani, early this morning (Apr. 4) and boats from many tour companies sailed there to rescue tourists floating in the sea, Matichon newspaper said.

A post on Disaster and Mitigation Special Unit’s Facebook page said their rescuers were also rushing there to help the tourists.

Fire & Rescue Thailand too mentioned on its Facebook page that a tourist boat caught fire near Koh Tao at 7 a.m. this morning with private sector boats sailing in to pluck tourists from the sea.
