Fire engulfs foam factory in Bangna with thick smoke spreading out

A FIERCE FIRE broke out at a foam factory in Bangna-Trat kilometre 13 area this evening (April 8) with thick, black smoke spreading in the sky but flights at Suvarnabhumi Airport were not disrupted, Amarin TV said.

The big fire erupted at Wanli Packing Enterprise Co., Ltd. located at Bang Chalong subdistrict, Bang Phli district, Samut Prakan province at around 7.30 p.m. This factory covers approximately five rai of land and consists of two interconnected single-storey warehouses used for foam production.

After the blaze broke out in one of the warehouses it rapidly spread to the second one due to the large quantity of foam pellets and boxes within. Thick black smoke billowed into the sky, visible from afar, as firefighters worked hard in trying to control it.

One of the workers said around 60 of them were working there when the fire broke out in the foam drying room but he was uncertain how it started because he was working in a different area. There was a lot of foam within both interconnected warehouses and they tried but failed to put out the blaze with extinguishers.
