Elderly man breaches Govt House security and rides in to file complaint

THERE WAS chaos at Government House this morning (March 30) when an elderly man rode through a tight security ring and after stopping in front of Thai Khu Fah building kept shouted “Anutin”, PPTVHD36 said.

The security breach occurred at 10.40 a.m. shortly after Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul had left the government building with the unidentified elderly man who was wearing a blue shirt resembling a taxi driver’s attire and a helmet with a disability symbol suddenly riding to the front steps of the building and continuously blared the horn while repeatedly shouting “Anutin.”

Security police officers intervened, and tried to persuade the man to leave the compound but he then started crying and said he was suffering and sought sympathy.

He claimed to be a lifelong member of Bhumjaithai Party and that he was from the same hometown as the party’s de facto boss Newin Chidchob, and party MP/House Speaker Sophon Zaram. After listening to him for a while police were able to escort him out of the compound on his motorcycle.

Reporters noted that the man rode his motorbike across the Chamai Maru Chet Bridge and bypassed security checkpoints, entering through the Prime Minister’s designated entrance/exit. This area is under extremely tight security.

The man in question has a history of visiting several political parties, often mentioning past accidents to claim compensation. He had previously twice visited Bhumjaithai headquarters, and  Anutin, as party leader, had sent a representative to receive his complaint.
