Election Commission to get sued unless senatorial rigging case forwarded to court

By Thai Newsroom Reporters

LEGAL ACTION will certainly be taken against the Election Commission if the polling agency fails to forward a sensational, senatorial rigging lawsuit to court, the People’s spokesman Parit Wacharasindhu confirmed today (March 16).

A duty-negligence and misconduct lawsuit will be definitely filed against the commissioners if they eventually fail to submit the long-awaited, senatorial rigging case against 229 persons, including 138 senators and 91 others, to the court in due course though a scrutinizing subcommittee attached to the polling agency had questionably concluded that none was found guilty at all.

Given truthful evidence and personal witnesses pertaining to 2024’s election of 200 senators most of whom had been allegedly hired, directed and involved in the senatorial rigging scandals, the commissioners are practically obliged to forward the case to court as earlier proposed by an investigative subcommittee or else the People’s will file a lawsuit against them all on duty-negligence and misconduct charges, according to the People’s spokesman.

Parit was responding to hearsay that the polling agency would probably decline to take action against those accused parties and scrambling to cover up their scandals over the highly contentious selection of the senior lawmakers, most of whom were allegedly more or less associated with the Bhumjaithai, core of the potential government surreptitiously steered by de facto party boss Newin Chidchob.

Significantly, four of the total seven commissioners who were handpicked by the pro-Bhumjaithai senators may have been told to exonerate certain persons from such alleged, disreputable wrongdoings including Caretaker Prime Minister Anutin Charvirakul and some Bhumjaithai MPs whilst House Speaker Sopon Sarum has today scheduled a House meeting to name and vote head of a post-election government for the upcoming Thursday.

The planned naming of Anutin for prime minister could possibly not only take a retroactive, unfavourable impact on him but the whole Bhumjaithai-led government if he was still found involved in the alleged, senatorial rigging shenanigan.

Meanwhile, the People’s plan to forward sooner than later legislation in pursuit of amendment to the constitution to the extent that members of the public have the right to endorse and submit petitions in pursuit of impeachment and dismissal of any members of the legislative branch and those of “independent” agencies including the Constitutional Court, the National Anti-Corruption Commission and the Election Commission in case that they may be found to have perpetrated duty-negligence or misconduct, Parit said.

The people’s right to take legal action to have politicians and members of the “independent” agencies impeached and deposed at the order of the court was waived up under the current, coup junta-designed charter.
