MYANMAR junta soldiers and Karen National Army fighters bombed a casino at Myawaddy border town, opposite Thai Mae Sot town, alarming nearby residents, TV Channel 7 said today (Dec. 5).
The bombed two-storey casino was located opposite Ban Tha At, Tha Sai Luat subdistrict, Mae Sot district, Tak province.
This is part of an effort to crack down on scammers along the Thai-Myanmar border with a 12-storey building used for online scam operations and human-trafficking at Shwe Kokko Special Economic Zone in this Myanmar border town having been dynamited on Wednesday (Dec. 3).
Previously lots of gamblers flocked to a casino at Shwe Kokko with some of them becoming bankrupt at the gaming tables.
Myanmar junta soldiers and Karen fighters are also searching for and arresting foreign scammers who had defrauded victims across the world resulting in significant losses.
