Thaksin’s jet heading for Singapore then likely returning to Thailand

LATEST data from global flight tracker Flightradar24 shows that de facto Pheu Thai boss Thaksin Shinawatra’s private airplane has left Dubai and is expected to land at Singapore this morning (Sep. 8) before flying onwards to Thailand, as previously announced, Thai Rath newspaper said.

At 6.50 a.m. the Swedish flight tracking service said a Bombardier Global 7500 aircraft, the same model as Thaksin’s private plane, had departed  Al Maktoum International Airport, United Arab Emirates, at 8.45 a.m. (5.45 a.m. in Thailand) en route to Singapore but the exact destination remained unclear.

However earlier reports indicated that Thaksin would fly from Dubai to Singapore before returning to Thailand at 5 p.m. today to hear the verdict by the Supreme Court judges in charge of criminal lawsuits against persons in political positions on his Police Hospital escapade tomorrow morning.

The power player had allegedly taken legal loopholes and conspired with certain high-ranking government officials including doctors at Bangkok Remand hospital and Police Hospital for the convict at large to not be imprisoned for a single day to otherwise serve a curtailed, one-year jail sentence but to be unduly granted double-standard privileges of staying for six-month period in a premium ward of Police Hospital under pretext of a “critically-ill patient” until he was released on parole early last year whilst the Medical Council of Thailand officially ruled that he had not been as clinically ailing as claimed.

Thaksin previously clarified on X that he intended to travel to Singapore for a medical examination but was delayed by Thai immigration officials for nearly two hours. This led to his plane being unable to land at Singapore’s Seletar Airport, which serves private aircraft because it is only open till 10 p.m. He therefore flew to Dubai instead where he underwent a medical checkup by an orthopedist and a pulmonologist  and met some friends he had not seen for over two years.
