DE FACTO PHEU THAI BOSS Thaksin Shinawatra has today (Sep.8) returned to Bangkok from an unanticipated trip to Dubai, apparently dampening speculation that he may never have.
The mega-billionaire power player, father of the court-deposed prime minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, arrived in his private jet at Don Mueang airport this afternoon from Singapore where he stopped over in the morning after he had departed last night from the United Arab Emirates capital where he had visited over the weekend.
His return to the Thai capital from overseas has evidently rebutted the speculation circulated online that he may never come back to face tomorrow’s (Sep.9) court ruling over a notorious Police Hospital escapade which he had allegedly preplanned for his illicit benefit.
Thaksin is scheduled to attend tomorrow’s verdict of the Supreme Court judges in charge of criminal lawsuits against persons in political positions over a notorious lawsuit filed against him and others for allegedly conspiring to take legal loopholes and perpetrating a six-month-long fakeout at Police Hospital in lieu of being literally put behind bars to otherwise serve a curtailed, one-year jail sentence at Bangkok Remand prison until he was released on parole early last year.
If found guilty as charged, Thaksin could possibly be ordered by court to be sent back to prison whilst certain high-ranking officials including those of the Corrections Department, Bangkok Remand prison and Police Hospital could possibly be given legal penalties for conspiring to do illicit favours for him.
The de facto Pheu Thai boss had been indicted in absentia on charges of perpetrating a few counts of misconduct during his previous premiership over the last couple of decades and sentenced to eight years in jail which had been curtailed under a royal decree to only one year.
