THAI air force fighter jets bombed an abandoned building that was previously a casino and scam centre but now used to store artillery while the border remained highly tense with Cambodian troops preparing to inflict maximum damage on the Thai side before negotiations called by US President Donald Trump get underway, Amarin TV said this evening (July 27).

The 2nd Army region said in its daily summary of the border conflict that at around 6.30 a.m. this morning Cambodian troops fired four rounds of unidentified rockets from Samraong Airport damaging two Thai houses and killing five pets.
Thai troops’ most important operations today include taking control of the area along the 1:50,000 operational line at Chong An Ma, Nam Yuen district, Ubon Ratchathani province. Thailand upholds the 1:50,000 map while Cambodia uses 1:200,000 map.
Areas where Cambodian troops are still trying to enter include the Chong Ta Tao, in front of Preah Vihear Temple, Phu Makhuea, Chong Chom area, Prasat Ta Kwai and Prasat Ta Muen Thom temples.
The attempted invasion could affect people along the border because the Cambodian side is firing weapons without any pattern, not in accordance with the rules of engagement.
Meanwhile from noon till midnight yesterday military operations took place in seven areas, down by three from the first day, amid heavy rain in many parts.
Details are as follows:
– At Chong Bok both sides held their positions amid reports that some troops were moving to help those fighting in Phu Makhuea and Chong An Ma areas.
Thai army took control of the area along the 1:50,000 operation line while Cambodian troops were moving south.
– At Phu Phi-Prasat Don Tual Temple and Chong Ta Tao areas Thai troops were still holding ground with Cambodians likely suffered heavy losses. The commander of a Cambodian division who reportedly died was responsible for this area but this could not be confirmed.
– Fighting continued in the area in front of Preah Vihear Temple, Cambodians’ main ploy is the use of snipers to fire at Thai troops from this temple area. Meanwhile, Thai troops still controlled the Phu Makhuea area along the 1:50,000 operational line.
– In the Chong Chom area, there was the use of supporting fire to attack Thai houses and the Prasart Ta Kwai Temple area. Cambodia attempted to send tanks up to the Chong Krang area, two kilometres west of this temple.
