A RUSSIAN man who was drunk climbed up the roof of a villa in Phuket and jumped to his death this afternoon (July 19) after assaulting his friends who had tried to stop him, Amarin TV said this evening.
At 3.52 p.m. Pol. SLt. Kriangkrai Daokrajai, deputy chief for investigation at Chalong police station, was alerted of a foreigner having jumped from the roof of a villa at Nai Harn beach and quickly went there to investigate together with a forensic doctor from Vachira Phuket Hospital and rescuers from Kusoldham Phuket Foundation.
At the villa they found the naked body of Mr. Khushang Bakiev, 36, on the floor with blood flowing all over it.
The deceased man’s friends said he was drunk, restless and had assaulted them. They tried to stop him but he climbed up the roof and jumped to his death.
The forensic doctor initially examined his body which was then taken to the hospital for an autopsy with the Russian embassy being notified to inform his relatives.
