Three killed, one injured in Pattani shooting

 

INSURGENTS wearing hijabs, Muslim women’s head covering, opened fire at defence volunteers in Pattani this evening (May 19) killing two of them on the spot with the third later dying in the hospital and the fourth recovering from his injuries, Naewna newspaper said.

Initial investigation revealed that the four insurgents rode up on two motorcycles and shot at the four defence volunteers from Don Sai Subdistrict Protection Force as they were driving along a coastal road near their base.

After that the insurgents quickly crossed Ban Lawaeng bridge and disappeared.

The three defence volunteers who died were identified as Mr. Suhaimi Abu, Mr. Marosalee Toseng and Mr. Daree Laemoh while Mr. Muridan Abu got injured.
