BOTH Khao San and Silom roads are chock-a-block with Songkran revellers today (Apr. 13) with Thais and foreign tourists having a splashing good time amid tight security, Amarin TV said.

Khao San road is one of the key areas where Songkarn is being celebrated with the Khao San Road Business Association having organised Khao San World Water Festival 2025 during Apr. 12-15.

To ensure the safety of participants 186 surveillance cameras have been installed along Khao San road, in addition to 11 face recognition cameras (Face Recognition AI) and four screening points.

Water splashing fun is allowed for 10 hours from noon till 10 p.m. until Apr. 15.

A reporter went to Silom road, which is closed to all types of vehicles, and saw large crowds of revellers at BTS Sala Daeng station.

However, water battles are taking place from the start of Silom road down to the intersection with Narathiwat Rachanakharin road with fun-seekers walking around as they please but policemen and city officials are keeping a watchful eye.
