PHUKET police are searching for three foreigners who hit a motorcycle driven by a Thai with a pickup truck and when questioned threatened the rider with a knife then drove off, Amarin TV said today (March 12).
The accident occurred three days ago in front of Patong Hospital with Facebook user “Je Moi v+” sharing a 33-second video clip of the accident.
In the accompanying message, this Facebook user said: “Foreigners who are Westerners drove a pickup truck and hit a Thai motorcycle, he had done nothing. When questioned, he shouted in dissatisfaction, got out and pulled a knife and threatened to stab him. He then got into the vehicle and drove away.”
While the accident took place three days ago the motorcyclist said police officers did not ignore it and had been calling him everyday to inform him of the progress they made but they have not caught them yet.
That led to him sharing this video clip via this page so that netizens who might see them could alert the police.
After this video clip circulated online many netizens commented such as: “Three days and still haven’t found them, by now they must have left the country;” “Foreigners don’t care about the law seeing it as our law, run into trouble, pay and it ends;” “If it were in another country they would get shot;” and “Phuket can enter the contest again … lots of free visa too”.
