Thaksin and Pita meet at wedding of two MPs

 

FORMER prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra and former Move Forward leader Pita Limjaroenrat met and shook hands at the wedding of two MPs last night (Jan. 10) with the groom being from Pheu Thai Party while the bride People’s Party during which Thaksin mentioned that different parties can work together, Amarin TV said.

The wedding between Mr. Thanathorn Lohsoonthorn, Pheu Thai MP from Lampang Constituency 2 and son of Mr. Pairoj Lohsoonthorn, also a former MP from the same northern province, and Ms. Rapassorn Niyamosatha, People’s MP for Lampang Constituency 4, took place at Asawin Grand Convention Hotel in Bangkok’s Lak Si district.

Pita, who is currently adviser to Progressive Movement’s chairman Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit. walked over to greet Thaksin, who is Pheu Thai’s de facto boss, and during their talk Thaksin mentioned that he was lonely during his 17 years of self-exile and wanted to come back to help the country solve problems and be useful again.

Pita in turn told Thaksin to take care of his health.

Thaksin walked over to talk to Ms. Pannika Wanich, a core member of the Progressive Movement, and at one point mentioned that she resembled his daughter/Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra.

In presiding over the wedding Thaksin said as MPs from different parties can get married so too different parties may be able to work together politically.

“I think the country must be united otherwise it will be difficult because of all that has happened both in terms of changing situations and technology,” he said while blessing the happy couple.
