WITH a new traffic regulation having been announced in the Royal Gazette, as of today (Dec. 24) vehicles travelling on all except 13 Bangkok roads have to maintain a speed limit of 60km an hour with this reduced to 50km an hour in the area around the Royal Palace, Amarin TV said this morning.
The regulation states that the Metropolitan Police has campaigned to enforce traffic discipline to reduce accidents in community areas and around important government offices.
The roads around the Royal Palace where speed is limited to 50km an hour are as follows:
– Ratchadamnoen Nai Road
– Na Phra That Road
– Phra Chan Road
– Na Phra Lan Road
– Sanam Chai Road
– Kalyan Maitri Road
– Thai Wang Road
– Maharat Road
– Ratchani Road
– Setthakan Road
The 60km speed limit is now enforced on all Bangkok roads except the following:
– Vibhavadi Rangsit Road
– Bangna – Trad Road
– Srinakarin Road
– Phahonyothin Road
– RamIntra Road
– Ratchaphruek Road
– Borommaratchachonnani Road
– Kanlapaphruek Road
– Romklao Road
– Suwinthawong Road
– Chaeng Watthana Road
– Phra Ram 9 Road
– Srinakarin – Romklao Road (new section)
