Leaked audio clip asking to be number on an old one: Anutin

DEPUTY Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul today (Sep. 11) said a leaked audio clip in which the speaker asked to be number one, that is prime minister, and also talked about appointment of civil servants at his ministry is an old one, Thai Rath newspaper said.

The speaker also mentioned the resignation of the leader of a certain political party.

Anutin was questioned about the programme “Inside Thailand” having aired this leaked audio clip which he earlier appeared to be listening to within parliament meeting chamber and he replied that he tried to identify the speaker but wasn’t able to hear clearly in the large hall and would have to listen to it again in a quiet room.

On being asked whether there was really a request for positions, Anutin said someone who had  listened to the clip called to say this is an old one and no jostling for positions now takes place.

This clip is just normal banter, he added.

Asked whether the clip is aimed at taking revenge, Anutin asked for time to listen to it while telling reporters to go question the old dog.

On whether those who released this clip are taking aim at the leader of a certain party, Anutin, who is the leader of Bhumjaithai Party with Newin Chidchob being the de facto boss, said since they were not involved they should not now get involved and that no action had been taken to lead to changes and times have changed.
