Swiss man falls to his death from Pattaya condo

A SWISS MAN allegedly stressed out over closure of his beer bar business in Pattaya fell to his death from a luxury condo at this seaside city today (Dec. 3), TV Channel 7 said.

Pol. Lt. Anirut Chaohro, a deputy inspector at Pattaya City police station, quickly went to investigate the death of the unidentified 71-year-old Swiss man after being informed he died upon falling from the sixth floor of a seven-storey condominium in Soi Thappraya 15, Nong Prue subdistrict, Bang Lamung district, with Sawang Boriboon Dhamma Sathan rescuers accompanying him.

An inspection of his condo showed no sign of fighting nor was it ransacked. The door was still open and it appeared he walked from there to the fire exit then fell to his death.

Staff at a nearby hotel said no one saw him falling but one of them did see him lying in a pool of blood after he hit the ground level of this condo.

Friends of the deceased said he had tried to commit suicide many times but was unsuccessful so this time he jumped down from the building.

These friends added that he was depressed after having to close his beer bar which he had run together with some partners.

Upon carrying out a thorough investigation police said a surveillance camera clip showed the Swiss man walking with his head bowed and going through the fire exit door and never returning.

His body was sent for an autopsy to ascertain the cause of death which will help with further investigation.
