A YOUNG Indian man holidaying in Pattaya died after falling from the 45th floor of a condominium late last night (Nov. 22) with his friends saying his death stemmed from a lovers’ quarrel, Naewna newspaper said this morning (Nov. 23).
At 11 p.m. Pol. Lt. Manasak Phonyiam, deputy inspector for investigation at Pattaya City police station, was alerted of a person having fallen from a high floor of this condominium in South Pattaya area and went there to investigate together with Tourist Police officers and rescuers.
At the scene of the 46-storey condominium, police found Mr. Afraim Joseph Pallinjaleel Joy, 25, dead at a garden next to the swimming pool on the sixth floor after falling from the 45th floor unit.
The deceased man’s friends said they had been in Pattaya for two days now and after Joy quarrelled with his girlfriend back home he went out and stood at the balcony alone as they watched from a distance.
He then unexpectedly climbed over the balcony railing and jumped down right before their eyes, shocking them all. They then alerted the condominium management who notified the police.
Pol. Lt. Manasak checked the scene of the death plunge and questioned those close to the deceased man in detail after which he liaised with the investigation team to come in and check surveillance camera clips and further investigate the true cause of his death.
