A COUPLE OF MPs OUSTED by the Move Forward were today (Nov.8) cautioned to see to it that they enrol for membership of another party within a 30-day period.

Election Commission secretary-general Sawaeng Boonmee said the MPs, namely Wuttipong Thonglour of Prachinburi and Chaiyampawan Munpianchit of Bangkok, both of whom have been recently deposed from the largest opposition party for allegedly perpetrating sexual harassment of their female staffers are being given a 30-day time to apply for membership of another party or else they will automatically lose their MP status, thus leading to a by-election in constituency-based mode, according to the polling agency’s secretary-general.

A couple of parties, namely the Bhumjaithai and Prachachart, have reportedly so far refused to admit either one of the Move Forward-deposed lawmakers.

Nevertheless, both could practically enrol as members of any party which may not even have an MP of their own at the moment in order to maintain their MP status, Sawaeng said.
