Major opening movie theatres for pet lovers

MOVIEGOERS will soon be allowed to bring their dogs and cats along to some theatres in Bangkok so that they could snuggle up with them as they watch a film, Matichon newspaper said today (Apr. 4).

Major Cineplex Group Plc Vice Chairman Mr. Wisarut Poolvaraluk and Deputy Chief Marketing Officer Mr. Narute Jiensnong have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with i-Tail Corporation Plc CEO Mr. Pichitchai Wongpiya and Acting Chief Commercial Officer Mr. Pornchai Tatiyachaitaweesuk to launch “iTail Pet Cinema.”

The latter is a leading pet food production company under a pet-centric concept of the Thai Union Group.

This is the first time in Thailand that this business model is being launched to offer a special experience for dog and cat lovers to relax with their pets while watching a movie.

Moviegoers will be able to start taking their pets to the cinema sometime in the second quarter of this year but only at Mega Cineplex, Eastville Cineplex and Major Cinema Robinson Ratchaphruek.
