PATTAYA Provincial court this evening (August 6) approved an arrest warrant for the owner of Mountain B pub that was engulfed in a huge blaze killing 15 people and injuring 37 others in the wee hours of Friday morning, Sanook.com said.
The pub’s owner, Mr. Pongsiri Panprasong, faces two charges, with these being negligence causing death and injury of other people and opening a pub without permission.
After the fire broke out at 1 a.m. on Friday pubgoers ran for their lives with some emerging from the blazing complex with their fire on their bodies and clothes. Thirteen people died at the scene while two more passed away later in the hospital. Altogether 37 people were injured.
People focusing on number 13
People in Sattahip district of Chonburi province were also widely discussing the appearance of the number 13 a few times in various factors linked to this pub, INN News said
These are that 13 people died at scene, the pub was built on 13 rai leased land plot, the date of the fire August 5 adds up to 13 and this fire occurred 13 years after the inferno at Santika pub in Bangkok during New Year’s Eve countdown to January 1, 2009 that killed 66 people with over 200 injured.
