SEVERAL PROMINENT persons today (Mar.31) applied to run for Bangkok governor.
A gubernatorial election scheduled for May 22 will see Bangkokians in all 50 districts of the capital going to the polls to pick either one of those contestants including:
Former Bangkok governor Aswin Kwanmuang, former deputy Bangkok governor Sakoltee Pattiyakul, former transport minister Chadchart Sittipunt and former senator Rosana Tositrakul, all of whom are running as non-partisan contestants.
Other favourite candidates include former King Mongkut Institute of Technology Ladkrabang rector Suchatvee Suwansawat who is running under the tickets of Democrat Party, former MP Sita Tiwari who is contesting under the banners of Thai Sang Thai Party and former MP Wiroj Lakkhanaadisorn who is running under the tickets of Move Forward Party.
Meanwhile, noted figures today applied to run for Pattaya mayor for which an election in the beach resort city is scheduled on the same day as that in Bangkok.
Those contestants for Pattaya mayor include Paramet Ngampichet of Rao Rak Pattaya Group, Sinchai Watanasatsathorn of Pattaya Ruam Jai Group and Kittisak Nilwatanatochai of Progressive Movement Group.
