Prayut trips on podium, tells media not to publish photos

AT 1 p.m. today (Oct. 29) Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha tripped while climbing a podium at Government House to address a press conference but managed to not fall, Sanook.com said.

The Premier had just chaired a meeting of the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) executive committee which he heads and had a discussion with Interior Minister Gen. Anupong Paochinda in the Yellow Lounge of the Santimaitri Building before walking to the podium he regularly uses to address the press.

However reporters said a startling incident occurred with Gen. Prayut stumbling as he climbed up the raised floor of the podium and almost falling but managing to stagger and regain a foothold.

After the incident Prayut told the press, “You can see that when I am in front of the media I feel a lot of pressure. It so happened I am not that strong due to attending meetings for three days in a row (the just concluded Asean summit).

“Tomorrow if anyone publishes my photos it will turn into an issue. Focus on serious matters.”
