SARABURI province police raided a drug party at a private karaoke room at 2.30 a.m. today (Oct. 10) and rounded up 220 teenagers as well as seized Ketamine pills, some crystal methamphetamine (Ice) packed in bags and E-cigarettes, Thai Rath newspaper said.
Pol. Col. Sathit Sangprapai, head of Nong Khae police station, led 50 policemen from both his and nearby stations to raid one of four private karaoke rooms at Back Mountain entertainment venue.
As they barged in, the youngsters who were happily dancing to loud music threw the drugs on the floor and tried to escape.
Found strewn across the floor were Katamin tablets, Ice packed in bags, ampoules and a number of drug paraphernalia.
Three of them had some Ketamine tablets and E-cigarettes on them and all were taken to the police station for drug test, background check and recording their arrest.
As there were so many suspects, 10 were taken to the police station in police vehicles and the rest in a bus.
Police said this entertainment venue had previously in January 2020 been raided on the charges of violating the emergency decree by not closing at 10 p.m. and allowing activities to take place that risk the spread of coronavirus.
