THE BODY of an Austrian hotel manager who has been missing on Phi Phi island since last Saturday (Sept. 11) was found late afternoon today (Sept. 15) after a big search by Krabi and Phi Phi island policemen, immigration officials and over 50 local residents, Sanook.com said.
The staff of Zeavola Resort on the island had filed a report at Phi Phi police station on Monday Sept. 13 that their general manager, Mr. Florian Klaus Hallermann, 56, was missing.
The search team then launched a hunt for him scouring tourist spots like Ao Nui beach by going through various shortcuts and also with difficult trekking through the hillsides and finally at 5 p.m. today found his body at a hilly slope in Ao Pliew, with this being a way to Loh Ba Kao Bay.
The spot where his body was found is around 200 metres from a road.

The search team could not give details of the injuries he suffered nor state the cause of death as this is still being investigated by officials.
Krabi forensic officials are on their way to the island by boat to investigate the spot where his body was found with outsiders barred from going there.
Police had suspected the missing hotel manager was involved in an accident because he has been on this island for 20 years and was well liked by the residents.
Moreover he never carried a lot of valuables with him when he went out and did not have any enemies.
