THE Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) web page published latest statistics on Covid pandemic with there being a total of 45,034 new cases from August 21 to September 3, 2021 in all 50 districts, Amarin TV said.
The five districts that logged the highest number of new infections during this period are as follows:
– Laksi, 2,328 cases;
– Chomthong, 2,061 cases;
– Bang Khae, 1,791 cases;
– Bangkok Noi, 1,577 cases;
– Din Daeng,1,517 cases.
The districts with the least infections were Samphanthawong, 223; Saphan Sung, 294; Lat Phrao, 310; Bang Rak, 325; and Phra Khanong, 356.
Meanwhile the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) said there were 15,942 new coronavirus cases and 257 more deaths today (Sept 4) with over 35 million doses of vaccine administered so far.
Of the new batch of cases, 13,549 emerged in surveillance and health care systems, 2,110 were found through proactive search in communities, 277 were infected in prisons and detention centres while six overseas arrivals were placed in state quarantine.
The cumulative confirmed total since the start of the pandemic has now reached 1,265,082 and in the current wave that began in April 1,236,219.
An additional 20,351 patients were cured taking total recoveries since the start of the pandemic to 1,097,317 and in the current wave 1,069,891. There are 155,134 patients still undergoing treatment.
The additional 257 fatalities raised the death toll to 12,631 with 12,537 occurring in the current wave.
Altogether 35,218,164 doses of vaccine have been administered with 375,914 people receiving their first dose yesterday and 546,043 their second.
