PM orders all agencies to help out as another homeless man is found dead

 

PRIOR to Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha announcing this morning (July 22) that all government agencies have to help take coronavirus patients to a hospital for treatment and they must not be seen wandering on the streets, a homeless man was found dead in Sukhumvit Soi 20,  Sanook.com and Thai Rath newspaper  said.

At 7 a.m. Pol Lt. Taemee Nakavisut, deputy inspector for investigation at Thonglor police station, was alerted that an anonymous homeless man was found dead in front of a building in Sukhumvit Soi 20.

A preliminary test showed he was not infected with coronavirus and his body has been sent to Chulalongkorn Hospital’s forensic department for an autopsy.

Later at 9.30 a.m. Gen. Prayut said at the start of a video conference that all departments have to do all that is required to take patients waiting at home to medical centres for treatment with this not just being the responsibility of the Public Health Ministry.

He added that he does not want to see the image of these patients wandering around the streets again and everyone must help each other take them to a field hospital,

Today’s video conference was with the Economic Situation Administration Committee to study the impact of the coronavirus crisis and discuss economic and investment stimulus measures as well as look at additional remedial measures for employers, employees, insurers and freelancers in the 13 deep red provinces.
