Chinese gangsters injure 2 policemen in Chonburi shooting

A CHINESE gang shot and wounded two transnational crime unit police officers who had gone to their luxury house in Chonburi province with a search warrant to inspect it this afternoon (May 19), TV Channel 7 said.

Led by Pol. Maj. Gen. Thiti Sangsawang, acting head of Chonburi police, and accompanied by tourist, immigration and police detectives, the team of transnational crime police knocked on the door of the luxury three-storey house surrounded by one rai of land in Huai Yai sub-district, Bang Lamung district, but instead were shot at by the Chinese gangsters within the house with two of them getting injured.

The Chonburi police chief then called for reinforcement after which they were able to control the situation and then arrested five Chinese suspects and two Myanmar nationals.

Upon inspecting the interior of the house police found 9mm and .22 shells scattered all around. The house has been cordoned off as evidence is collected.
