92 new Covid cases today, True employee infected

THE Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) said at 11 a.m. this morning (March 18) that there were 92 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours and one additional death raising the toll to 89 while True Corporation announced that one of their employees has been infected but he/she does not deal with clients, said.

The new batch of cases takes the cumulative confirmed total to 27,494 with 26,377 patients having recovered while 1,028 are still undergoing treatment.

Of the 92 new cases, 64 emerged from surveillance and service systems while proactive search in communities found 14 more. Quarantined after arriving from overseas were 14 travellers.

Meanwhile True Corporation not only announced that their infected employee did not deal with clients but also revealed the timeline of his/her recent activities as follow:

  •  March 3, 2021: Attended a meeting at True Branding shop, Siam Square Soi 2 branch;
  • March 4-5, 2021: Worked at True Tower building, 20th floor;
  •  March 6-8, 2021: Stayed home;
  •  March 9-10, 2021: Worked at True Tower building, 20th floor;
  •  March 11-16, 2021: Worked at home;
  • March 17, 2021: Tested positive for coronavirus.

At the same time a 36-year-old woman who travelled by train from Bangkok to southern Songkhla province has tested positive for Covid-19.

Dr. Uthisak Harirattanakul said the patient was asymptomatic and had been admitted to Hat Yai Hospital for treatment. Her husband got a negative result but is being quarantined at the same hospital.

Those who travelled on southern train number 171, carriage number 14, are requested to quarantine themselves at home for 14 days and observe their symptoms.
