AFTER 80 asymtomatic coronavirus cases emerged at Bang Khae wet market Bangkok Metropolitan Administration is rushing to screen another thousand people there with the infection from here having also spread to Nakhon Pathom province, Amarin TV reported this evening (March 13).
At 3.54 p.m. today Nakhon Pathom’s Public Health Office revealed the infection spreading across to their province from Bangkok’s Bang Khae market and urged all those who visited it from February 27 till today to urgently get themselves tested at a state hospital or contact the office at Tel. 065-9402374.
Bang Khae wet market is one of Bangkok’s largest markets located on the Thonburi side.
A 64-year-old woman visited this market during February 25-28 and March 1-7 and developed a fever on March 8. She came in for a test on March 11 and has now been confirmed to be infected. She is the province’s 121st case.
Another two cases, the 122nd and 123rd cases, were found in Klongyong sub-district, Phutthamonthon district. One is a 63-year-old man and the other a 34-year-old man.
Meanwhile the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) said this morning that there were 78 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours and one additional death taking the toll to 86.
The new cases raised the cumulative confirmed total to 26,757 with 30 more patients being cured adding up to 26,086 who have recovered while 585 are still undergoing treatment.
Of the 78 new patients, 33 emerged from the surveillance and the service systems and 34 through proactive search in communities. Meanwhile 11 overseas arrivals have entered state quarantine.
