THE total number of coronavirus cases plunged again today (Feb. 8) with 186 new patients emerging and taking the cumulative total to 23,557, Siam Rath newspaper said.
The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration’s (CCSA’s) assistant spokeswoman Dr. Apisamai Srirangsan said of today’s 186 cases 176 were domestic and ten were overseas travellers arriving here. Two each came from the UK and UAE and one each from Germany, India, Malaysia, Sweden, Turkey and the US.
Regarding the 176 domestic cases, 141 were found through surveillance and service systems, and 35 through proactive search in communities with a total of 13,383 cases found through searching this way.
There were no additional deaths with the toll remaining at 79 while 468 more patients have been cured, adding up to 17,410 who have been discharged from hospital, while 6,068 are still undergoing treatment.
As of Dec. 15 to this morning there were 19,320 cumulative confirmed cases with 13,470 having recovered and 5,831 still under medical care. The death toll during this period is 19.
