Art rally at Silom, another one at Pathumwan intersection

DEMONSTRATORS started gathering in front of the Tamil Hindu temple going down throughout Silom road from 5.50 p.m. onwards today (Oct. 29) with this being a new type of rally with the focus being on art, Thai Rath newspaper reported.

There are to be stalls selling art products, music and performances in this new type of gathering unlike the ones that have taken place in recent months.

Some of the rally-goers sat down and waited to watch the show in front of Silom Complex.

Meanwhile another rally is taking place at the skywalk area of Pathumwan intersection with organizer Mr. Siraphop Attohi, also known as Raptor, saying this is to start at 6 p.m. after honouring the national flag.

Demonstrators will be singing for Ms. Panusaya Sitthichirawattanakul, or Rung, and other protest leaders now in prison.

Mr. Chaiamorn Kaewwiboonpan (Ammy) of the pop group The Bottom Blues also joined the rally at Pathumwan intersection, relating all that happened when he was detained recently.

Meanwhile police urged the people to avoid this route while BTS skytrain and the shopping malls remain open.

Chulalongkorn University said it had lawfully informed the authorities about the rally at Pathumwan intersection and had also checked the structural safety of the skywalk with the engineers.
