THE WOMAN who shot dead her former husband’s new girlfriend and also injured him in Lampang province early Sunday morning has now been arrested and has confessed to the crime, Sanook.com reported this afternoon (Oct. 14, 2020).
Ms. Niranuch Okwang, 50, was arrested in neighbouring Phayao province after an informer told police that he saw her grey Lampang registered Toyota sedan parked in front of a house there.
Police surrounded the house, but because it was already dark, waited till morning, and then moved in to arrest the suspect when she came down to go to the bathroom.
Niranuch also told police that she followed Ms. Phanthira Kattisiri, 42, to the townhouse in a pickup truck. There was an argument that lasted five minutes after which she shot Phanthira twice, leading to her death, and then shot her ex-husband Mr. Suchart Rhirun, 52, once in the left leg.
She then drove home, changed the vehicle, after which drove to stay with her friend in Phayao province. She had also thrown the pistol into Phayao Lake.
