THE CABINET meeting today (Sept. 22) presided over by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha approved additional holidays in November and rescheduled a holiday in December to create two more long weekends which would give people an opportunity to travel and this in turn help stimulate the economy, Sanook.com reported.
Thursday and Friday November 19 and 20 have been declared extra holidays with this leading to a four-day long weekend from November 19 to 22.
The Cabinet also approved the shifting of the December 7 holiday, in compensation for Father’s Day and birth anniversary of His Late Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej that falls on Saturday December 5, to December 11.
This leads to another four-day long weekend from December 10, which is already a national holiday being Constitution Day, to December 13.
