Right-wingers make five demands at assembly

THE RIGHT-WING Thai Pakdee group held a meeting at Thai-Japanese Bangkok Youth Centre today (August 30) to show their loyalty to the nation, religion and monarchy and also tabled five demands to the authorities, Siam Rath newspaper reported.

The gathering was presided over by the group’s leader Dr. Varong Dejkitvikrom with the secretary-general Mr. Wichai Lomsuthi unveiling the following five demands:

– Protect the nation, religion and monarchy;

= Continue the roots of Thai identity;

= The authority to control and examine monopoly capital;

= Fostering equality with modern technology in the professions of all classes;

= Build a solid foundation for national wealth through a self-reliant economy.

They also made three requests as follows:

= Not dissolve the parliament;

= Strictly implement the law to all groups that intend to destroy the monarchy;

= Not amend the 2017 constitution.

The assembly took place in a lively manner with people continuously flocking in. It had started with the playing of the song Yarm Yen (In the Evening) composed by His Late Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej with a portrait of His Majesty King Rama X together with his Royal flag and the national flag on display.
