PHUKET International Airport’s sole runway has been closed after a military airport malfunctioned there at 11.14 a.m. today (Oct. 8) with passengers urged to check with their airlines to prevent missed flights, FM91 Trafficpro and Phuket Times online media said.
For maximum safety Phuket Airport issued a runway closure notice in order to move the navy aircraft and check its surface.
This airport operates with a single runway, designated as Runway 09/27, which accommodates both arrivals and departures. However Phuket Airport functions efficiently with this single runway, supported by multiple taxiways and terminals for international, domestic, and charter flights.
