MOST people said they are bored and increasingly feel hopeless with Thai politics amid news of a rift between red (Pheu Thai) and blue (Bhumjaithai) camps as well as the just concluded principle stage 2026 budget debate with many questioning whether it is worthwhile, transparent and meets the people’s livelihoods in a survey conducted by Suan Dusit Poll and released today (June 1), TV Channel 7 and Amarin TV said.
The online nationwide opinion poll conducted during May 26-30, 2025, on the topic ““Thai Political Index May 2025” with 2,168 people questioned showed that the average score for this index last month was 4.70 points, down from 4.82 points in April.
The government politician rated most outstanding was Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra scoring 40.87%, with the respondents appreciating her effort to accelerate resolving tourism problems and restore confidence.
As for the opposition, the politician to watch is People’s Party leader/ Opposition leader Nattapong Ruangpanyawut, who got the 50.79% and was commended for investigating the government’s lack of transparency.
