“Woke up early to see the most popular supermarket at the moment!!! I want our country to be able to eat and access fresh ingredients like this easily. I think that if we successfully develop a rail transportation system, both dual-track trains and high-speed trains, it will turn Thai logistics into a regional transportation hub. This kind of image will definitely become reality.”

Paetongtarn and her delegation arrved in Los Angeles on Monday (Nov. 11) and will today be heading to Lima, Peru, to participate in the 31st Apec Economic Leaders’ Meeting and related meetings.

She also met members of the Thai community in the United States, home to the world’s largest Thai expatriate population of over 400,000, at the Thai temple in Los Angeles where she prayed and paid respect to the abbot.

The temple had raised US$30,000 from Thais living in Los Angeles and nearby cities to help flood victims which they handed over to her.

In her speech Paetongtarn said Thais abroad are a valuable human resources for the country being successful in many careers and if they have the opportunity to return to Thailand and use their knowledge and expertise to help the country.

The prime minister is also scheduled to meet with US business leaders and representatives from the Motion Picture Association (MPA) to discuss investment opportunities in Thailand and support the nation’s “soft power” initiatives.
