A YOUNG female worker died at around noon today (Dec. 1) after a wall in a two-storey house in the On Nut area of Bangkok which she and her teammates were renovating suddenly collapsed, Amarin TV said this evening.
A team from Prawet police station rushed to inspect the house in Soi On Nut 74/3-1 upon being alerted of the workplace accident.
At the scene found that Ms. Songkran Saklor, 31, had died of her injuries while being given first aid by a medical team after a first floor wall collapsed while she was working there.
Mr. Wattanson Wilalang, 32, the deceased woman’s husband, said just as he and other workers were demolishing walls and the ceiling on the first floor, this wall suddenly fell on his wife who was collecting cement scraps on the ground floor.
They quickly called an ambulance to take her to the hospital but she died of her injuries while getting first aid because the wall fell so heavily.
Police are questioning eyewitnesses about her death with her body being sent to the Forensic Institute to determine the cause of death.
