Mingkwan likely to be one of three Palang Pracharath PM candidates

By Thai Newsroom Reporters

FORMER COMMERCE MINISTER Mingkwan Saengsuwan has now joined ranks with the ruling Palang Pracharath Party in anticipation of himself being named one of a trio of partisan candidates for head of a post-election government.

In today’s (Dec.6) press conference at the party’s headquarters, Mingkwan told reporters that he would probably be named one of the Palang Pracharath trio running for prime minister though he has only recently registered himself for partisan membership.

In the presence of Palang Pracharath top leader Prawit Wongsuwan, Mingkwan said the party boss will hold a meeting of the party’s executive board members to see whether they will finally approve the naming of him as one of the Palang Pracharath candidates for prime minister.

Prawit took his turn to express his agreement to Mingkwan’s statement, saying he cannot make a decision at such a level of significance by himself alone.

The Palang Pracharath boss stopped short of either confirming or denying speculation that he himself will take up the No.1 slot among the trio of partisan candidates for prime minister.

Prawit who concurrently acts as deputy prime minister told reporters that Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha “has already departed” the Palang Pracharath though the current premier may have been earlier meant to be named among a trio of partisan contenders for prime minister.

The Palang Pracharath boss expressed his admirations for Mingkwan who had earlier announced his resignation as New Economics MP after taking House floor debate in protest of Prayut’s alleged failure to run the country in competent, fruitful fashion for being high-calibered in handling the country’s economic affairs which, he said, would certainly be put to work in foreseeable future.

Mingkwan said he would not have ever considered joining the Palang Pracharath  if Prayut was still around in Prawit’s camp.
