Xi Jinping to give a keynote speech at Apec CEO Summit

CHINESE leader Xi Jinping has accepted an invitation to give a keynote speech at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) CEO Summit 2022 which is being held in parallel to the 29th Apec Summit taking place during Nov. 16-19, INN News said today (Nov. 1).

Mr. Poj Aramwattananon, chairman of the Apec CEO Summit 2022, said the Chinese leader will outline his vision as will global corporate leaders from all economic regions share their viewpoint.

This is a good opportunity for the private sector and the general public to listen to their views.

With the global economy facing challenges on all sides, such as food shortage, energy crisis and inflation, as the world starts recovering from the setbacks brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic, the private sector is on high alert with the CEO Summit providing a good venue for them to determine the economic direction.

It is also a good opportunity for Thailand to turn its economy around after Covid pandemic’s impact with the country having now officially opened its doors.

Mr. Sanan Angubolkul, chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Board of Trade of Thailand, said as  chairman Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry and Banking that this forum will display Thailand’s potential and strengths that are attracting investment.

Moreover business leaders of other countries will also get a chance to outline their needs and focus on the readiness of Thailand and the other countries to amend laws so that all 21 economic zones could link up.

Aside from tourism the country needs foreign investment to flow in as soon as possible, he said.

In this respect, allowing foreigners to buy land for residential purposes will spur the flow of investment but there are people who strongly oppose it.

The private sector has asked educational institutions to study this issue and outline the benefits and disadvantages in allowing foreigners to buy residential land here with this to be completed after the summit ends, he added.
