A TEAM of Immigration, Tourist and Region 4 police this morning (Oct. 2) arrested an American man at a downtown Bangkok condominium on the charges of raping and injuring a masseuse in Khon Kaen city last Monday, Thai Rath newspaper said.
Attacked at Deena Thai massage parlour located behind Khon Kaen Vocational College was Ms. Manasan Klinsukon, 45. She had been badly injured but is now in safe condition while still having to stay under close medical supervision.
The police team showed an arrest warrant issued by Khon Kaen Provincial Court yesterday to Mr Robert Andrew in arresting him at a condominium in Soi Nana Nuea.
The suspect is being detained at Immigration Police headquarters for interrogation with the media and those not involved not allowed in to observe the proceedings as at this stage the police team in charge is still handling the investigation.

However police said the suspect travelled to Thailand in January this year having landed at Suvarnabhumi airport and had specified Amnart Charoen province as his destination. He later got his visa extended at Koh Samui immigration checkpoint, Surat Thani province, citing the Covid-19 outbreak as the reason for staying on in Thailand. He had mentioned a condominium in the Sukhumvit area as his residence.
