THE Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) said today (Sept. 29) that as many as 198 illegal migrant workers slipped across the border yesterday and so far 10 people who did so were found to be infected with Covid-19, TV Channel 7 said.
Of these 198 illegal aliens 102 came from Myanmar, 43 from Cambodia, 27 from Laos and one from Malaysia.
Thai officials had caught 51 of them in the inner areas of the country, 147 along the border with there also being 17 other cases.
From Sept. 1 to Sept 28, 2021 altogether 5,607 migrant workers had illegally come to Thailand.
Meanwhile, of the 10 persons who sneaked across the border via natural routes and were found infected with coronavirus four were from Myanmar while one is a 69-year-old Thai man who reached Chaing Rai province on Sept. 15 and was found to be infected on the 12th day of quarantine.
Another three Thai men, around 30 to 32 years old, who slipped back to Thailand from Cambodia via a natural route and then travelled to Chanthaburi province were also found to be infected.
