AN ACCIDENT on Si Rat expressway led to a man who was standing in front of his parked sedan falling off and dying on Rama 9 road after another sedan smashed into it and it was later found that he had 2,000 methamphetamine pills and two small bags of Ice (crystal meth) with him, Sanook.com said this evening (August 22).

When Hua Mark policemen got to the scene of the accident that occurred at 3 p.m. they found Mr.  Sunthorn (surname withheld), 41, lying dead on the road with a chest bag containing the drugs on him.

Expressway surveillance cameras showed that the drug trafficker was heading for the motorway when his sedan seemed to have developed a problem as he pulled over and came out to inspect it.

Suddenly another sedan driven by Mr. Teerawit (surname withheld), 32, slammed into the parked car leading to the deceased man falling off the expressway.

Teerawit too suffered a head and leg injury and was taken to Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital for urgent medical treatment.

Pol Col. Wichai Narong, head of Hua Mak police station, said preliminary investigation confirmed that this was not a drug chase but an accident caused by negligence.

Further investigation is continuing about the drugs and some cash found on the dead man with the injured man to be questioned when he is better.
