Daily Covid count slides to 1,871, 10 more fatalities

THE Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) said at 11.30 a.m. this morning (April 29) that there were 1,871 coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, down from 2,179 yesterday, with the death toll also dropping to 10 from 15 the past two days, Amarin TV said.

This raises the cumulative confirmed total to 63,570 while the overall death toll now stands at 188.

As of this morning 1,344,646 people in this country had been vaccinated against this disease.

Of the new batch of 1,871 cases, 1,830 emerged in surveillance and service systems while 34 were found through proactiv search in communities. Seven overseas arrivals were quarantined.

An additional 992 patients were cured, adding up to 35,394 who have recovered, while 27,119 are still undergoing treatment. Altogether 786 patients are in severe condition with 230 using ventilators.
