THE Supreme Court today (March 25) ordered Palang Pracharath Party MP Parina Kraikupt to stop performing her duties after accepting a case filed by the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) alleging that her chicken farm had encroached on a reserved forest in Ratchaburi province, Siam Rath newspaper said.
NACC said in its petition that the police in charge of suppressing crimes related to natural resources had previously reported these allegations.
NACC requested that the Supreme Court order Ms Parena to stop performing her duties from the day the case is accepted until verdict is given; that she be stripped of this position from the day she stops working; and revoke her right to stand in the election as well vote for a period of 10 years.
However the Supreme Court this morning ordered Ms Parina to stop carrying out her duties even though she had filed a petition that she be allowed to continue doing so. The next hearing will take place on April 30, 2021 at 9.30 a.m.
