AT 11.10 p.m. last night a Metropolitan Police unit arrest the girlfriend of Mr. Chaiamorn Kaewwiboonpan, a popular singer whose stage name is Ammy the Bottom Blues, after he was earlier arrested in Ayutthaya province on the charges of violating Section 112 of the Criminal Code, known as the lese majeste law, for setting fire to a portrait of His Majesty the King in front of Klong Prem prison, as well as breaching the Computer Crime Act, Siam Rath newspaper said this morning.
Ammy has confessed to the charges and said he alone is responsible but police said CCTV camera clips show more than one person was involved with there being two men and one woman with him.
Arrested at Suvarnabhumi Airport was Ms Yanisa or “Look Mai” as she was waiting to board a flight to Japan today.
She was taken to the police station for questioning.
Ammy had called another star, Ms Inthira Chareonpura, or Sai, who is a supporter of the 2020 Thai protests and has contributed to the movement’s funding while also slapped with Section 112 charges, after he was arrested under Section 112 charges yesterday, she said in a Facebook post.
She said she cried when he called and after that called her mother to tell her that he had called and that she does not know what to say.
